Frequently Asked Questions
What lawn care services do you offer?
Solano Lawn Care offers lawn mowing, weed whacking, edging, walkway and driveway blow-off, small yard cleanups, weed cleanup around pavers and rock beds, light shrub trimming, and general curb appeal cleanup.
Do you offer weekly or bi-weekly lawn maintenance?
Yes. We offer weekly and bi-weekly lawn maintenance depending on your property’s needs and the season. Weekly service is usually best during peak growing months.
Do you do one-time lawn cleanups?
Yes. We offer one-time cleanups for overgrown yards, rental properties, real estate listings, commercial properties, or homes that just need a fresh reset.
Do you service small yards?
Yes. We specialize in small to medium-sized yards, including front yards, backyards, side strips, fenced areas, and tight spots where bigger equipment may not be ideal.
Do you remove weeds from pavers, walkways, and rock beds?
Yes. We can remove weeds from pavers, walkways, curb edges, fence lines, rock beds, and other areas where weeds make the property look messy.
Do you trim bushes or shrubs?
We offer light shrub and bush trimming. This includes basic shaping, cleaning up overgrowth, and improving walkway or curb appeal. Larger trimming jobs may require a separate estimate.
How much does lawn mowing cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the property, grass height, trimming needed, cleanup required, access, and how long the job will take. Basic lawn service starts at $40, but final pricing is based on the specific property.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes. We offer free estimates. You can contact us with your address, photos, and a short description of what you need done.
Can I send photos for a quote?
Yes. Sending photos is one of the easiest ways to get a quicker estimate. Please send photos of the front yard, backyard, side areas, gates, problem spots, and any overgrown areas.
Why does the first visit sometimes cost more?
The first visit can cost more if the lawn is overgrown, has heavy weeds, debris, tall edges, or needs extra cleanup. Once the property is under control, regular maintenance is usually easier and more affordable.
What areas do you service?
We service areas in and around Oakland, Wanaque, Pompton Lakes, Wayne, Franklin Lakes, Hawthorne, Bloomingdale, Riverdale, and nearby towns in North Jersey.
What days and times are you available?
We are available on weekdays after 5:00 PM and on weekends. Scheduling may depend on weather, daylight, and route availability.
What happens if it rains?
If it rains or the lawn is too wet, service may be rescheduled. Cutting wet grass can leave clumps, damage the lawn, and create unsafe working conditions. We’ll do our best to get you back on the schedule as soon as possible.
Do I need to be home during service?
No, you do not need to be home as long as we have access to the areas being serviced. Please make sure gates are unlocked and pets are safely inside.
How do I prepare before you arrive?
Please remove toys, hoses, outdoor furniture, pet waste, decorations, and anything that could block the mowing or trimming areas. This helps us work safely and gives your property a cleaner finish.
What if my gate is locked?
If the gate is locked and we cannot access the service area, we may need to reschedule. Please make sure all required gates are unlocked before your appointment.
Do you service fenced backyards?
Yes. We service fenced backyards as long as there is safe access for equipment.
What if I have pets?
Please keep pets inside during service. Also, please clean up pet waste before we arrive. This helps keep the service safe, clean, and professional.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, Zelle, and debit or credit card payments when available. Payment options can be confirmed when your estimate is approved.
When is payment due?
Payment is due once the job is completed unless another arrangement has been made ahead of time.
Do you send invoices or receipts?
Yes. We can provide invoices or receipts for completed work.
Do you haul away grass clippings or debris?
Small cleanup debris may be removed depending on the job. Hauling away larger amounts of weeds, branches, grass clippings, or debris may cost extra because it requires additional time and disposal.
Do you bag grass clippings?
Bagging may be available upon request and may cost extra depending on the size of the lawn and amount of clippings. For many lawns, mulching the grass is a good option because it returns nutrients back into the lawn.
What if my lawn is very overgrown?
Very overgrown lawns may require extra time, multiple passes, trimming, cleanup, and possibly a separate cleanup price before regular maintenance can begin.
Do you apply weed killer or chemicals?
No chemical applications are performed unless properly licensed and approved. We can help with manual weed removal and cleanup, but chemical lawn treatments require proper licensing in New Jersey.
Do you guarantee your work?
We care about doing the job right. If something was missed, please contact us the same day and we’ll do our best to make it right.
